Tips & Solutions
At-home solutions to orthodontic problems
Poking wire
Place orthodontic wax on the end of the wire
Use a pencil eraser to push the wire toward the tooth
Clip the end of the wire with clean nail clippers
If unable to manage at home, call the office for a comfort visit
Loose bracket
Place orthodontic wax on the loose bracket if it's rubbing your cheek
If it's a front bracket - please call the office to move up your appointment
Lost aligner
Move to your next tray in the sequence and wear for two weeks
If you lost the last tray in the sequence, wear the previous tray and call the office to move up your appointment
Continue wearing a tray until your next appointment. If you stop wearing any aligners, the teeth will shift unfavorably.
